Please provide your feedback in this short Flings' survey.
A fully supported version of the HTML5 client is released with vSphere 6.5, and the official name will be vSphere Client.  We won't be renaming this Fling, but may start saying things like 'vSphere Client Fling' in addition to the other terms we've used before. Fling features are not guaranteed to be implemented into the product.

Deploying 5.0 with Windows VC/embedded PSC, getting error [400] An error occurred while sending a logout request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server - An error occurred when processing the metadata during vCenter Single Sign-On setup - LookupService URL is invalid, URL cannot be null.. in the UI.

I've followed the instructions from the document and troubleshooting precisely, and verified my settings. My previous install was working (4.3), but figured I'd update for newer features. The only other odd error I get is when running server-configure.bat, I get some messages:
Generating store.jks file...
Generating webclient.properties file...
Error 2: Possible errors:
LDAP error: Protocol error
Win Error: The system cannot find the file specified.

Using the get-machine-id as get-ldu is returning an error for this vcenter.
Error 100001: An unknown option was present on the command line.
Using the default reverseproxyport=443 since no custom port found.
Creating ds.properties file...
1 file(s) copied.

Hi,
If you have your old H5 fling appliance and if it was version 4+ you can directly copy the configuration files from it.
Copy the /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/webclient.properties, /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/store.jks and /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/config/ds.properties to the same folders on the new appliance.
Make sure they are owned by the user vsphere-ui and have 770 permisions.

Just a quick tip for you current configuration files. Can you checkif they had Windiws EOF.
$> hexdump -c /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/webclient.properties
$> hexdump -c /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/ds.properties
If you see in any of the dumps \r\n then you should remove all the \r from the file.
To remove the \r you can use the 'tr' command.
cat webclient.properties | tr -d '\r' > webclient.properties

Glad to be helpful:-)

I tried completely wiping out my old installation data (removed certificate stores for vsphere-webclient with vecs-cli, removed the vsphere-webclient solution user), and redeploying the 5.0 OVA, but still getting the same problem.

Thanks for the suggestions
There were indeed windows EOF on the files, but after stripping and restarting, no change in behavior. I also ran a diff between my old config files and the new ones, and the only difference between the 2 was the Installation.id line in webclient.properties. Putting the config files from the old appliance in place did not change behavior. I didn't copy the store.jks from the old appliance because my vCenter external facing SSL Certs changed due to expiration.

Hi Matt,
Can you please share the exact VC version you are using.
I will try to replicate it next week.
You can also share the webclient.properties and ds.properties but please remove you domin names and other sensitive information.
Also are you using certificates to cominucate between the H5 client and the VC?

Also I need to know if you have internal or external PSC?
And if external what type it is?

Thanks for the great work!
Please implement the possibility to move the frames for Tasks and Alarms to the right side (sidebar). The placement of the Alarms in a second tab is not really helpful to see Alarms when they occur.

Thank you for the awesome work you're doing with the fling. I wanted to say that I use this more than our actual vSphere Client.

Request: In regards to PowerActions, I would love to be able to schedule scripts to run. I currently use a Windows VM to run a scheduled task for our Snapshot removal script. Would love to have it running from here. Thank you
