BigAdv units were discontinued back in 2015: https://foldingathome.org/2015/01/31/big-adv-program-ends-january-31/
Many of the current WUs will still take advantage of 16 or more cores, but BigAdv itself is dead.

I wonder if the "Automatic detection of CPU >= 16 and configuration of "bigadv" in config.xml" is really necessary then

Hi, is there a way to configure FAHControl appl on my mac to monitor/control the VM? Does it use the default 36330 port or something else? FAHC just says "connecting".

Doc says should work. And only tip is to check the port. I can nc to port 36330. When I deployed the OVA i specified the password and IP ranges for management but not working. I even tried the default VMware1! password.

I am wondering if anyone using a 16 vCPU VM actually is getting big advanced WUs? The documentation says that the minimum is 24 cores.
