Thanks for the feedback! The snapshot use case you mentioned is interesting and something we have not considered at this point. You could definitely accomplish this with the VEBA Fling as an Event Driven action based on the VM powered off vCenter event.
Hi,
Because we will have a rightsizing project it would be very useful. Do you plan in the near future to improve it with vSocket and vCore/vSocket?
Hi Zoli,
Yes! We are hoping to include this functionality in an upcoming release; however, I cannot provide a release date at this time. v1.0.1 was focused on bug fixes only.
Hi,
looks really promising but I am having issues with vCenter certificate validation.
Adding the LDP URL doesn't seem to work.
In other products it is possible to just manually import a certificate file.
Is there any way to do this here?
Hi Julian!
We're working on defining the process on how to manually import a certificate file. We should have that ready soon, I'll keep you posted! Thank you so much for the feedback.
Managed to find a URL but still I get "x509: certificate signed by unknown authority"
Hi Vince, I think this would be very difficult if not impossible to accomplish. You could possibly leverage a webhook notification plugin within vROps, but this would be very challenging with the VMDSC sessionID authentication requirements. Am I understanding your ask correctly (having vROps integrate directly with the VMDSC appliance/API without the need for vRO)?
This is a great enhancement to vCenter! Thanks for this fling.
I just deployed the appliance to our lab.
Could you imagine adding similar functionality for creating snapshots? Of course snapshots can be taken any time but for data consistency we do take snapshots for our vm users when the vm is powered off.
