followed installation guid, installation was successful, but couldn't log in, neither with my password, nor with the default for root. now the VM is deleted. I've tried to reinstall, but the installation routine tells me:

Active association of the solution with vCenter Server MyvCeneter.vspher.local already exists.

How can I resolve this?

To resolve the "Active association" issue you have first remove the previously installed Power Action plug-in by going to Administration -> Client Plug-ins, select Power Action and click remove. Then when installing again you should check "Clean vCenter Server".

Where weren't you able to log in? Ssh into the appliance?

Under Administration -> Client Plug-ins the Power Action Plug-In isn't listed.
SSH into the Appliance didn't work. Passwords were rejected.

If Power Action isn't listed in Client Plug-ins then the installation wasn't successful.

How do you recon that the installation finished successfully?
Is there a running "installation" task?
Does your root password contain any special characters?

Well all deployment tasked are finished the appliance is running idle an no tasks are queued in the vCenter. I'm able to connect through ssh to the appliance, but my PW is rejected (also the default PW). Yes my root password has more than 8 characters and contains special characters.

I was able to resolve the issue by restarting the vCenter.
