Hi, I am getting stuck on "Deploment started" vms are deployed, but when I console in they are in various stages (after 12+hrs), some are at a linux logon prompt, some are at a grub prompt, some are at the "end of kernel panic, unable to mount root fs" Not sure where to go from here, any suggestions would be great.

Hi, looks like the deployment failed, what you can do:
1. cancel the current testing.
2. delete all the vms in the cluster
3. uncheck the "Directly deploy on host" if that is checked and save the config. then start over.

Doing some tests on a traditional FC SAN-environment. However when I test with 16 VM's with 16 datastores (for optimum queue depths on 2 hosts) the summary txt file will show the first or second datastore as running 7 or 8 VM's and then the 7 and 9th datastore as not running any VM's (which is impossible considering it requires even spread of VM's). The vdbench file per VM shows normal data for 1 VM running on 1 datatstore for the first and second datastore but the 7 and 9th datastore do not even show up with a file at all. Can you check if you can reproduce?

that sounds interesting! lemme try to reproduce this issue and push a fix very quickly.

my information page comes up blank, and then when I hit test it take about 3 seconds and says test was successful.

did you press "save configuration" button before validation?

Yes I did, I did resolve this issue, but I made two changes at once, so not sure which did it.
1) I used IP instead of DNS for vcenter (DNS typically works for me for this vcenter)
2) I changed from domain\username to administrator@vsphere.local
Unfortunately when I did get the blank information page, it never told me what the problem was.

After getting through the above, I did get errors about not finding xyz data center or xyz cluster, and realized it case sensitive. Maybe for next release put a comment about that or preferrably make the field case insensitive.

Thanks great program.

Thanks for you feedback!

1) Is it possible to not redeploy new VMs every time a batch of tests is run? I would like to prevent having to write condition vdisks every time.
2) Is there a way to add a custom name to a parameter file generated using the "Generate" button?

1) if you have ran your test already and you have all your VMs preserved, you could go to HCIBench ssh console and run /opt/automation/io-test.sh to just run the workload w/o redeploy.
2) the file name is generated automatically, you can go to /opt/automation/vdbench-param-files to modify the names.
