We dun have a link to vdbench user guide in the HCIBench itself neither on this page. We only have the user guide of HCIBench provided here.

Hi Guys, great tool, really good work putting this together.
I have actually used the previous version to 1.5 for a while now, but just found 1.5 which appears to have fixed some issues I was seeing, so thanks for that.

However, I've run it about 10 times in a little environment I have and twice now the test fails as the HCI bench vm actually turned into a read-only file system, so could not write the results anymore.
I was able to storage migrate the vm and that fixed the read-only file system. I saw a vmware kb about this, that said some os patches where required, but I'm not sure what to do with Photon.
https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=51306

I have a smallish env, creating 4 vms, 10 disks * 10 Gig, with 10 threads per disk and this vdbench param file
wd=sql_oltp,sd=(sd1,sd2,sd3,sd4,sd5,sd6,sd7,sd8,sd9,sd10),rdpct=80,xfersize=8k,seekpct=100
rd=run1,wd=sql_oltp,iorate=max,elapsed=10

I am going to change iorate to curve to help it out a bit

Any thoughts on this

I'm contacting the Phton Team to get the answer, will let you know once we have a solution.

Hi, I am getting stuck on "Deploment started" vms are deployed, but when I console in they are in various stages (after 12+hrs), some are at a linux logon prompt, some are at a grub prompt, some are at the "end of kernel panic, unable to mount root fs" Not sure where to go from here, any suggestions would be great.

Hi, looks like the deployment failed, what you can do:
1. cancel the current testing.
2. delete all the vms in the cluster
3. uncheck the "Directly deploy on host" if that is checked and save the config. then start over.

Doing some tests on a traditional FC SAN-environment. However when I test with 16 VM's with 16 datastores (for optimum queue depths on 2 hosts) the summary txt file will show the first or second datastore as running 7 or 8 VM's and then the 7 and 9th datastore as not running any VM's (which is impossible considering it requires even spread of VM's). The vdbench file per VM shows normal data for 1 VM running on 1 datatstore for the first and second datastore but the 7 and 9th datastore do not even show up with a file at all. Can you check if you can reproduce?

that sounds interesting! lemme try to reproduce this issue and push a fix very quickly.
